To keep civilians from relieving all over the city during Carnival, we developed electricity-generating urinals that kept the party longer.

Carnival in Rio de Janeiro has one problem: people drink a lot and end up peeing on the streets. To remedy this, Afroreggae, Rio de Janeiro’s biggest NGO, created
a Carnival Truck Powered by Urine. A special urinal used pee to move a dynamo generating energy.

This energy powered up Afroreggae’s Carnival Truck, spreading our message “the more you pee on the right place, the longer the party goes”, to 200.00 people on the spot.

We created special urinals and placed them
where the city gets busiest.
The flow of urine powered a dynamo that turned pee into energy.
The energy was stored in batteries, later used to power
AfroReggae’s Carnival truck.
